The winners of the 2018 ALFRED I. DUPONT-COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY AWARDS have been announce by COLUMBIA JOURNALISM SCHOOL. The winners will be awarded on JANUARY 16th at COLUMBIA's LOW MEMORIAL LIBRARY in NEW YORK, with "CBS THIS MORNING" co-host GAYLE KING and CNN "THE LEAD" and "STATE OF THE UNION" host JAKE TAPPER hosting.
The three audio winners were REVEAL FROM THE CENTER FOR INVESTIGATIVE REPORTING and CODA STORY's "RUSSIA's New Scapegoats," a radio documentary on RUSSIA's anti-gay movement; "THIS AMERICAN LIFE" for Episode 600: "Will I Know Anyone At This Party? Act One: Party in the USA," in which producer ZOE CHACE talked to residents of ST. CLOUD, MN on both sides of the immigration issue; and THE NEW YORK TIMES for the morning news update podcast "THE DAILY."
Also winning DUPONT awards were SCRIPPS ABC affiliate KNXV-TV (ABC 15)/PHOENIX; ABC NEWS and LINCOLN SQUARE PRODUCTIONS; WGBH EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION PBS affiliate WGBH-TV/BOSTON with AMERICAN DOCUMENTARY and WORLD CHANNEL; CBS NEWS; CBS EVENING NEWS; PBS' "FRONTLINE"; HBO's "REAL SPORTS WITH BRYANT GUMBEL"; TEGNA NBC affiliate KARE-TV/MINNEAPOLIS; TEGNA CBS affiliate KHOU-TV/HOUSTON; NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC NETWORKS and JUNGER QUESTED FILMS; NBC O&O KNTV-TV (NBC BAY AREA)/SAN JOSE-SAN FRANCISCO; NETFLIX with FORWARD MOVEMENT and KANDOO FILMS; and TRIBUNE FOX affiliate WITI-TV (FOX 6)/MILWAUKEE.
