BLOOMBERG is reporting that GOOGLE's parent company, ALPHABET, will launch a YOUTUBE paid music service in MARCH of 2018.
"The new service could help appease record-industry executives who have pushed for more revenue from YOUTUBE," notes the report. "WARNER MUSIC GROUP, one of the world’s three major record labels, has already signed on," writes BLOOMBERG. YOUTUBE is reportedly also in talks with SONY MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT and UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP, as well as MERLIN -- a consortium of independent labels.
