ALL ACCESS extends sympathies to family and friends of musician LEON RHODES, following his SATURDAY (12/9) passing. He was 85.
RHODES started his career in his hometown of DALLAS, playing guitar for recording sessions that included RAY PRICE, LEFT FRIZZELL, and others. He joined ERNEST TUBBS' TEXAS TROUBADOURS in the late 50s, then became a member of the GRAND OLE OPRY band, where he remained for 25 years. RHODES was also a familiar player in MUSIC ROW recording sessions, with his work heard on records from WAYLON JENNINGS, LORETTA LYNN, WILLIE NELSON, GEORGE JONES, CRYSTAL GAYLE, REBA MCENTIRE, and many others.
Visitation was set for today (12/11) and again tomorrow (12/12) at HERMITAGE FUNERAL HOME & MEMORIAL GARDENS from 11-1p (CT) with services to follow on TUESDAY. Memorials may be made to AliveHospice.org.
