SoundExchange's Top Streaming Track For 2017: The Chainsmokers Featuring Halsey's 'Closer'

SOUNDEXCHANGE's year-end Top 20 Tracks and Breakout Artists of 2017 charts, based on streaming data compiled from more than 3,100 digital music services, are out and the top track of the year was THE CHAINSMOKERS Featuring HALSEY's "Closer," edging out ED SHEERAN's "Shape of You."  BRUNO MARS' "That's What I Like" finished third; ALESSIA CARA's "Scars To Your Beautiful" and THE WEEKND's "Starboy" rounded out the top 5.  THE CHAINSMOKERS had a second entry on the chart, with their COLDPLAY collaboration "Something Just Like This" in at 18th position.

On the Breakout Artists chart, NIALL HORAN led the pack, with JULIA MICHAELS and KHALID next; HORAN isn't the only ONE DIRECTION member to appear on the list, with LIAM PAYNE (4th), HARRY STYLES (5th), and LOUIS TOMLINSON (15th) making this year's chart (ZAYN MALIK was third on 2016's list).
