Longtime New York Radio Newsman, Anchor Lou Adler Dies At 88

Longtime NEW YORK radio newsman LOU ADLER has passed away at 88 in CONNECTICUT, reports ENTERCOM News WCBS-A/NEW YORK. A familiar voice co-anchoring mornings on WCBS for many years with JIM DONNELLY, ADLER had been fighting Alzheimer's disease.
ADLER served as News Director at WCBS in 1973-1981 after 12 years with CBS, first as a reporter for WCBS and then moving to sister CBS O&O WCBS-TV, after which he returned to the radio station in 1967 as morning anchor and reporter. In 1981, he left WCBS to join crosstown WOR-A, then became a professor at QUINNIPIAC UNIVERSITY and owner of WKFD-A/WICKFORD, RI. ADLER also served as president of the RADIO-TELEVISION NEWS DIRECTORS ASSOCIATION (now the RADIO TELEVISION DIGITAL NEWS ASSOCIATION) in 1985,
