FORBES MAGAZINE has released its 2018 list of Hip-Hop Cash Princes and Princesses; 10 of Hip-Hop’s future moguls. According to FORBES, this years list is more diverse by measures including age, ethnicity and gender. Here’s a partial list along with FORBES’s reasons for their selections.
- CARDI B – With "Bodak Yellow," CARDI B became the first female rapper to top the charts without any other billed acts since 1998. Born BELCALIS ALMANZAR, the "LOVE & HIP HOP: NEW YORK" star gained notoriety through viral posts on INSTAGRAM, where she has 13 million followers.
- 21 SAVAGE – The ATLANTA native invaded airwaves with his verse on fellow list-member POST MALONE's chart-topper, "Rockstar," but he has hits of his own: The multi-platinum earworm "Bank Account" boosted his debut album to No. 2 on the BILLBOARD 200 and earned him a gold certification.
- POST MALONE – The SYRACUSE-born rapper-singer finally topped his first smash "White Iverson" with this year's "Rockstar," featuring list-mate 21 SAVAGE. The song peaked at No. 1 on the BILLBOARD singles charts and secured MALONE's status as one of the most popular rising hip-hop acts of the streaming era.
- PLAYBOI CARTI – His warbling flow and relentless trap beats allowed his single "Magnolia" to clock 150 million SPOTIFY spins, and his self-titled debut LP reached No. 12 on BILLBOARD's album charts. His rising stardom resulted in landing an ADIDAS video campaign this summer that earned him an estimated six-figure payout.
- LIL PUMP – One of SOUNDCLOUD rap's most notorious exports has graduated to bigger platforms: His strangely unforgettable "Gucci Gang" soared to No. 3 on the BILLBOARD HOT 100.
