JOHN DEBELLA, the longtime morning show host for BEASLEY BROADCAST GROUP Classic Rock WMGK/PHILADELPHIA, has been accused of sexually harassing and groping a former co-worker on his morning show on WMGK, according to several sources including phillyvoice.com.
JENNIFER NEILL, who worked on the JOHN DEBELLA SHOW filed a federal lawsuit FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 16th against DEBELLA, the BEASLEY BROADCAST GROUP and others alleging DEBELLA repeatedly subjected her to vulgar sexual remarks and unwanted touching including requests for oral sex.
NEILL, known as JEN POSNER on the show, joined as a traffic reporter in 2002 later moving up to a "sidekick" role from 2010 to 2016. In the lawsuit, NEILL alleges that DEBELLA grabbed her breasts on several occasions and also rubbed his genital area against her multiple times and once placed her hand on his genital area.
In the lawsuit NEILL claims that several supervisors were aware of DEBELLA’s lewd behavior but routinely ignored it, and in 2016 she complained to management but an internal investigation resulted in no known discipline against DEBELLA, who reportedly told bosses the "jokes" were "mutual."
Her lawsuit also claims that after the company’s investigation, in NOVEMBER 2016, NEILL was demoted to traffic reporter and she submitted her resignation the next month.
In a statement to ALL ACCESS, BEASLEY BROADCAST GROUP VP/Corporate Communcations HEIDI RAPHAEL said, "BEASLEY prides itself on being an equal opportunity employer and takes such allegations very seriously. However, at this time, we are not offering specific comment on the matter."
