Former major league catcher and ROGERS Sports CJCL-A (SPORTSNET 590 THE FAN)/TORONTO BLUE JAYS analyst JOE SIDDALL is moving to the TV side as studio analyst on pre-game and post-game "BLUE JAYS CENTRAL" shows with JAMIE CAMPBELL on SPORTSNET. SIDDALL replaces another former MLB catcher, GREGG ZAUN, who was fired in DECEMBER; also featured as guest analysts on the TV shows will be former MLB players CLIFF FLOYD and KEVIN BARKER, the latter also a host on SPORTSNET 590 THE FAN.
“I’m truly excited to begin this next chapter in my broadcast career, working alongside JAMIE and the entire broadcast team,” said SIDDALL. “As a player, I loved being behind the plate because I was involved in every pitch and every aspect of the game. I try to bring that same perspective and passion to my work as an analyst.”
“Since joining the radio broadcast team in 2014, JOE has become one of the industry’s leading analysts,” said SPORTSNET VP ROB CORTE. “He has an incredible baseball IQ and we are thrilled that he’ll be making the transition to television this season.”
SIDDALL played for the MONTREAL EXPOS, FLORIDA MARLINS, DETROIT TIGERS, and BOSTON RED SOX in his 13-year career.
