BAY AREA radio legend JOHN MACK FLANAGAN passed away over the weekend. Raised in NEW MEXICO, FLANAGAN started in the summer of 1964, spent some time in VIETNAM, then made his mark as a DJ on the classic Top 40 KFRC "Big 610" in the '70s. Later, he was heard on KWSS/SAN JOSE and CALIFORNIA stations KIOI, KSFO/KYA and “K-BIG 98.1.”
A member of THE BAY AREA RADIO HALL OF FAME and the NATIONAL RADIO DJ HALL OF FAME, FLANAGAN also wrote "Tight & Bright: A Diskjockey - Vietnam Memoir."
His daughter, KELLY, took to his FACEBOOK page to post: "We ask that you give us these next few days to make arrangements before contacting us. We will let you know when a memorial service will be held. Thank you for respecting our privacy during this really difficult time."
