The departed trio of network TV news anchors will be honored with the NAB's Distinguished Service Award at the organization's Spring convention in LAS VEGAS in APRIL 2006.
The late ABC anchor PETER JENNINGS, NBC's retired TOM BROKAW, and former CBS anchor DAN RATHER will be "remembered as broadcast industry icons," NAB Pres./CEO EDDIE FRITTS, himself preparing to leave his longtime post, said in a statement issued MONDAY (10/17). "They were on the front lines of history and were voices of authority in times of turmoil. It is a pleasure to recognize their valuable contribution to our nation with this year's DSA award."
