The board of CBS CORP is combining its investigation of harassment charges against CEO LES MOONVES with its probe into allegations of harassment at CBS NEWS that was expected to be finished later this month, VARIETY reports. The findings of the CBS NEWS probe, overseen by law firm PROSKAUER ROSE, will be wrapped into the broader corporate inquiry.
Last week, CBS Corp. hired two other law firms, COVINGTON & BURLING and DEVEVOISE & PIMPTON, to examine allegations made by six women against CBS CORP. CEO LESLIE MOONVES. The CBS News investigation started after reports on unwanted behavior by former “CBS This Morning” co-host CHARLIE ROSE. There are also multiple allegations about the behavior of "60 Minutes" Exec. Producer JEFF FAGER, a former Chairman of CBS NEWS.
The law firms investigating would report directly to the board, not corporate management. Telecommunications vet and former NAACP CEO BRUCE S. GORDON will head of a three-person special committee that will supervise the law firms’ efforts. He is joined by management consultant LINDA GREIGO and attorney ROBERT KLEIGER, who has represented CBS’ controlling shareholders, SUMNER and SHARI REDSTONE in legal matters.
