Last night (8/9), PEARL RECORDS' GARTH BROOKS made a surprise appearance at TOOTSIE'S ORCHID LOUNGE on Broadway in NASHVILLE. Local talent ANDY GIBBONS was performing on the second floor at TOOTSIE'S when BROOKS jumped in for a performance of "That Summer." As they say, you never know who you will see in NASHVILLE. BROOKS may not have stuck around "All Day Long," but social media lit up about the performance, and local ABC-TV affiliate WKRN-TV picked up the story. Check out BROOKS' pop-up performance in the WKRN-TV video here.
Additionally, BROOKS announced today that he will take the stage at the GRAND OLE OPRY on SATURDAY, AUGUST 25th. BROOKS will take the stage alongside RICKY SKAGGS, CONNIE SMITH, and more for the 7p (CT) show at the OPRY HOUSE in NASHVILLE. BROOKS has previously made surprise appearances at the GRAND OLE OPRY since coming out of his self-imposed retirement in 2014. The following year, he and wife TRISHA YEARWOOD popped on stage for a duet performance (NET NEWS 6/22/15), and just this year, BROOKS was present at the OPRY for the inductions of CHRIS JANSON (NET NEWS 3/21) and BOBBY BARE (NET NEWS 4/9). Tickets are currently on sale, and additional information may be found here.
