The embattled UNITED STATES TRAFFIC NETWORK (USTN) will end its radio traffic services as of FRIDAY, AUGUST 24th for audio and FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 7th for data. The company is closing its radio division and letting most of the radio sales staff and on-air anchors go, informing the staff on a conference call this morning (8/21). USTN will continue to service television stations.
USTN is suing ENTERCOM, alleging that the latter aborted negotiations to buy USTN and instead used information from the sale process to launch its own competitor traffic entity. The lawsuit was filed in JULY.
