WNYC Studios' 'More Perfect' Podcast Spawns Album Themed To U.S. Constitution's 27 Amendments

WNYC STUDIOS, "MORE PERFECT" podcast, itself a SUPREME COURT-focused spinoff of "RADIOLAB," has spawned an unusual spinoff of its own, a free digital album with major music artists performing songs inspired by each of the 27 amendments to the U.S. Constitution.

"27: THE MOST PERFECT ALBUM" will be released digitally on SEPTEMBER 18th and will include songs featuring DOLLY PARTON, DEVENDRA BARNHART, THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS, and many more.  The release coincides with the launch of the podcast's third season, with episodes serving as "liner notes" to the album, narrated by actor JEFFREY WRIGHT with visual artwork by LUIS MAZÓN and essays by Legal Editor ELIE MYSTAL.

“The mission of this album is to take these sometimes forgotten words and animate them through the power of music,” said host JAD ABUMRAD. “These 27 amendments not only outline our basic rights as Americans, but they also show a country changing, evolving, re-imagining itself. Striving -- and not always succeeding -- to be better. These songs are a small way to say that these words matter. We’re thrilled to bring listeners this music in this critical moment.”
