WSUN (97X)/Tampa Adds A Good Cause To Its 'Next Big Thing'

COX Alternative WSUN (97X)/TAMPA-ST. PETERSBURG is partnering with the TAMPA BAY community to give those who purchase tickets to 97X’s heritage music festival, The 97X NEXT BIG THING, then option to donate to TO WRITE LOVE ON HER ARMS (TWLOHA), a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide.

“Talking about mental health is the first step in the right direction and there is no better medium than radio to support the conversation and break the stigma surrounding it” 97X APD JENNA KESNECK said. “This silent epidemic affects us all – friends, family and even ourselves. 97X’s partnership with TWLOHA is centered around embracing brave conversations and bringing awareness and support to those struggling in the Tampa Bay community.” 

“Since we began in 2006, music has been at the heart of our mission and outreach as we seek to meet people where they naturally come together and encourage the continuing of their stories,” Dir./Music & Events CHAD MOSES said. “Through the help of caring partners like 97X and events like NEXT BIG THING, we have been able to connect countless people to mental health resources, grow one of the largest followings among non-profits across social media, and invest over $2.2 million directly into treatment and recovery."

The 97X NEXT BIG THING takes place SATURDAY, DEC. 1st and SUNDAY, DEC. 2nd in TAMPA (NET NEWS, 8/24).
