JACOBS MEDIA will embark on a tour of the CES in 2019. Next year’s tour, given to a maximum of 15 attendees, will be led by author and futurist SHAWN DUBRAVAC, as well as providing an opportunity to speak with leaders in the automotive, tech, and media space.
“These tours are a real eye-opener for radio’s leadership,” Pres. FRED JACOBS said. “It’s important to step outside the broadcasting business to learn what’s around the corner and how technology will impact radio. There was a lot of camaraderie, but also valuable insight into the gadgets, trends, and opportunities ahead for the radio business. It’s a great way to get charged up and prepared for the new year.”
“Throughout the year, we hear from radio executives interested in what’s next at CES," JACOBS MEDIA VP/GM PAUL JACOBS said. "Several attended tours in both 2017 and 2018, and are planning on joining us again. There’s nothing like witnessing the future in a highly-charged, electric environment. Our tour is perfect for radio execs in programming, digital, sales, and engineering.”
Featured companies and “tour stops” are curated by JACOBS MEDIA to ensure relevance and resonance to radio broadcasting execs. “The tour removes the randomness and stress of attending a show of this magnitude,” FRED JACOBS said. “Our job is to organize a meaningful look at the innovations and technologies that matter to our industry, and we know where to go to maximize value and everyone’s time.”
JACOBS MEDIA will also co-sponsor a private dinner for all attendees with the RAB. “It is our pleasure for the third year in a row to co-host the broadcaster dinner at CES with JACOBS MEDIA,” RAB Pres./CEO ERICA FARBER said. “We welcome the opportunity to share the experience of attending CES and to brainstorm how radio and audio can capitalize on the innovation taking place in technology and media.”
Last year’s tours featured automakers, technology companies, as well as AMAZON and GOOGLE to give attendees a chance to learn how smart speaker technology will impact radio broadcasters. Similar visits and the opportunity to meet key players in the media and technology field are planned for the 2019 tour. A video webinar of Top 10 CES 2018 takeaways can be found here.
