As the preseason continues, the NBA's HOUSTON ROCKETS have nailed down an extension of their radio deal with IHEARTMEDIA Sports KBME-A (SPORTSTALK 790 AM)/HOUSTON. The ROCKETS will continue to be heard on SPORTSTALK 790 with pre- and post-game shows, and some games will be simulcast on sister News-Talk KTRH-A. CRAIG ACKERMAN continues as play-by-play voice for home games on the radio and away games on TV; SPORTSTALK 790 midday host MATT THOMAS returns to call road games on the radio and serve as the team's public address announcer for home games at TOYOTA CENTER.
“I am excited to continue our incredible partnership with the HOUSTON ROCKETS. The future for both IHEARTMEDIA and the HOUSTON ROCKETS looks very bright,” said IHEARTMEDIA Region President EDDIE MARTINY. “I’d like to thank (ROCKETS CEO) TAD BROWN, (GM) DARYL MOREY, (owner) TILMAN FERTITTA and the entire ROCKETS organization for providing ROCKETS fans a team that annually competes for championships.”
“We couldn’t be more excited for the upcoming season of ROCKETS basketball and are glad to continue our partnership with SPORTSTALK 790,” said BROWN. “CRAIG ACKERMAN and MATT THOMAS are an incredible one-two punch for ROCKETS fans to enjoy throughout the season.”
iHEARTMEDIA Dir. of AM Programming BRYAN ERICKSON added, “We’re thrilled to be able to continue our partnership with the ROCKETS. The team is poised to make a championship run and the next several seasons promise to be very exciting."
