Longtime BBC radio personality MARK RADCLIFFE will be taking time off from hosting on AC BBC RADIO 2 and Triple A BBC 6 MUSIC to get treatment for mouth cancer.
RADCLIFFE told listeners to RADIO 2's "THE FOLK SHOW" and his Twitter followers on WEDNESDAY evening (10/3) that he has "some cancerous tongue and lymph node issues" and hopes to return to the air in 2019 or sooner.
RADCLIFFE will be off the air after THURSDAY's 6 MUSIC afternoon show with STUART MACONIE; RICKY ROSS will fill in for RADCLIFFE on "THE FOLK SHOW" for now.
Now – here’s a thing – I’m sad to say that I’ve got some cancerous tongue and lymph node issues and so, as I’m sure you’ll understand, I’m going to be disappearing for a while. It’s all been caught very early and so everything should be fine.
