WAAF/Boston Names Joe Calgaro PD

Joe Calgaro Leaving Milwaukee For Beantown

ALL ACCESS has learned that ENTERCOM Active Rock WAAF/BOSTON has hired SAGA COMMUNICATIONS Active Rock WHQG (102.9 THE HOG)/MILWAUKEE PD JOE CALGARO as its new PD, replacing long time Brand Manager/PD RON VALERI who left the station last week (NET NEWS 10/2).

CALGARO said, "I am truly humbled by the opportunity to lead a legendary station like WAAF.  RON VALERI and his team at ENTERCOM in BOSTON have set the standard for rock radio for so many years.  It’s such an iconic brand with larger-than-life personalities and a storied tradition of excellence. It is an honor and a privilege to be entrusted with continuing and building upon that winning tradition."

CALGARO has programmed WHQG since 2012, and had prior programming stints at WOODWARD COMMUNICATIONS Rock WAPL/APPLETON-GREEN BAY, WI from 1999-2012 and signed on and programmed WOODWARD's Active Rock WZOR (RAZOR 94.7)/APPLETON-GREEN BAY, WI from 2000-2012.
