Capitol Records' Joe Rainey Has Passed Away

As we first reported SATURDAY (NET NEWS 10/13), everyone at ALL ACCESS has an extremely heavy heart as we report the sudden passing of our dear friend, CAPITOL SVP/Pop Promotion & Marketing JOE RAINEY on FRIDAY evening (10/12). RAINEY was 43.

CAPITOL MUSIC GROUP EVP/Promotion GREG MARELLA said, "All of us at CMG are incredibly shocked and saddened to learn of the untimely passing of our colleague and friend, JOE RAINEY.  He will be greatly missed. We offer our most heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones at this extremely difficult time."

ALL ACCESS Pres./Publisher JOEL DENVER noted, “I am truly and deeply saddened to my core at this news. This is one of those moments in life that is so impactful and so devastating for all of us. I have known JOE for so long that I can’t really recall when I didn’t know him and when we weren’t close friends. JOE had an amazing energy and charm about him like I’ve never seen. His passion for his children and for his artists and their music was unequaled. Our hearts go out to everyone at CAPITOL and to JOE’s family. JOE was a wonderful and one of a kind man. He will always be missed by me and everyone that he met. JOE touched so many of our lives in such a positive and genuine way.”

RAINEY is survived by his ex-wife, L.J., and their two children, MADISON and HARRISON, as well as his mother, ANNIE BLOCK; his father, JOSEPH MANN RAINEY; his brother, THOMAS RAINEY; and his stepfather, ROB SIDES. A memorial service for RAINEY will take place on WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 17th at CECERE FAMILY FUNERAL HOME located at 2283 Grand Ave. BALDWIN, NY 11510 from 5p until 9p (ET). The funeral home is walking distance from the BALDWIN Train Station. Memorial donations in memory of RAINEY may be made to BARBARA C.
