PEARL RECORDS' GARTH BROOKS announced today (10/17) that he will be launching a stadium tour in 2019 that will run for the next three years. The first two cities on the tour will be ST. LOUIS, MO and GLENDALE, AZ, where he will play STATE FARM STADIUM and THE DOME AT AMERICA'S CENTER, respectively. BROOKS promised that three additional cities will be announced in the coming weeks; all five cities will go on sale before CHRISTMAS. BROOKS also noted that his stadium tour will feature an all-new stage configuration as well as new band members.
Additionally, it was announced that BROOKS' visit to NOTRE DAME STADIUM this SATURDAY, OCTOBER 20th (NET NEWS 8/27) will be filmed for a primetime television special, "GARTH: Live At NOTRE DAME!" The special is set to premiere on CBS-TV on SUNDAY, DECEMBER 2nd at 8p (ET/PT). "After the sellout [NET NEWS 9/4], I thought it could not get any more exciting than this," said BROOKS. "Then, CBS calls and in an instant, the show becomes bigger. This changes everything."
During a press conference in NASHVILLE this morning (10/17), BROOKS told ALL ACCESS that each of the forthcoming stadium shows will be treated like a game day, and each show will be unique and an individual experience. "I think it only makes the evening bigger and better to do that," said BROOKS. "My things are the traditions. What are the traditions and some of the songs they sing? If we break in to some of those songs, that's where the crowd will get to do their thing. And, music plays such an intricate part in everybody's lives that there has to be something at each individual show for that school and that crowd. Can you imagine -- and, I'm not saying we're going there -- but, can you imagine playing 'Callin' BATON ROUGE' in BATON ROGUE at LSU? I know ALABAMA plays 'Friends In Low Places' before their games there. It would be fun to role in to those places and be a part of that tradition."
