Congratulations to RICKY SKAGGS, DOTTIE WEST, and JOHNNY GIMBLE, who became official inductees to the COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME (CMHOF) last night (10/21) as the Class Of 2018 (NET NEWS 3/27). The MEDALLION CEREMONY featured video tributes, speeches, musical performances, and the official inductions for each of this year's inductees.
CMHOF member CONNIE SMITH handled the official induction for the late GIMBLE, and CMHOF member BRENDA LEE inducted the late WEST. SKAGGS, the only living member of the Class Of 2018, was inducted by CMHOF member GARTH BROOKS. SKAGGS then played the late BILL MONROE's mandolin and led the crowd in the singing of "Will The Circle Be Unbroken," the traditional closing song of the MEDALLION CEREMONY, and Country music's unofficial "national anthem."
