ALL ACCESS extends condolences to family, friends, and former colleagues of singer-songwriter TONY JOE WHITE, who passed away WEDNESDAY (10/24) afternoon in his home in LEIPER'S FORK, outside of NASHVILLE, according to reports from the TENNESSEAN. WHITE was 75.
Known for his signature "Swamp Rock" sound, WHITE penned hits including "Polk Salad ANNIE" and "Rainy Night In GEORGIA," which led to a 2016 nomination to the NASHVILLE SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME (NET NEWS 6/23/16). Over the past 50 years, WHITE's songs have been cut by ELVIS PRESLEY, DUSTY SPRINGFIELD, RAY CHARLES, TINA TURNER, and more. Service arrangements are not yet finalized.
