SLATE has debuted a new podcast miniseries looking at the deadly 1992 siege at RUBY RIDGE in NAPLES, ID in 1992.
"SLATE PRESENTS STANDOFF: WHAT HAPPENED AT RUBY RIDGE?," hosted by RUTH GRAHAM and produced by GRAHAM and NINA EARNEST, posted its first episode TODAY (10/31) and will examine how a warrant to arrest RANDY WEAVER, a man who took his family off the grid, for failure to appear in court on firearms charges ended up in an eleven day siege that resulted in the deaths of WEAVER's wife and son and a federal Deputy Marshal, and a standoff that lasted eleven days, and created a rallying point for the extreme right.
Subscribers to SLATE's premium SLATE PLUS option will receive bonus episodes, this week including an interview with IDAHO STATE UNIVERSITY Professor Emeritus JAMES AHO and a talk with SLATE's CHAU TU about the making of the opening episode.
