No new station sale transactions appeared in the FCC database THURSDAY morning.
In the filings that did appear, TODD P. ROBINSON's LYNCHBURG RADIO GROUP, LLC is transferring the license of WVMP/VINTON, VA to parent company WVJT, LLC in a pro forma transaction for no consideration.
PENELOPE, INC. has applied for an STA to operate W252EE/MIDDLESBORO, KY from a temporary facility after its licensed tower was hit by a truck and collapsed.
The Commission also dismissed CENTRO CRISTIANO DE VIDA ETERNA's application to get K287BQ/HOUSTON back on the air with reduced power after interference complaints forced it to go silent; the STA application proposed a reorientation of the antenna to avoid the locations of the complaining listeners.
GOOD NEWS COMMUNICATIONS, INC. has closed on the sale of News-Talk KVOI-A (THE VOICE)/CORTARO-TUCSON to BUSTOS MEDIA HOLDINGS, LLC for $500,000. Also, GOOD MUSIC, INC. has closed on the sale of Religion KGMS-A/TUCSON to TUCSON CHRISTIAN RADIO, INC. is $350,000. KALIL & CO. served as exclusive broker for the deals.
And TOMLINSON-LEIS COMMUNICATIONS, LP has closed on the sale of Classic Hits KKHA (HAPPY RADIO 92.5)/MARKHAM, TX to MARK E. PORTER's GLOBECOM MEDIA LLC for $150,000.
The FCC has also cancelled and deleted the licenses of FAMILY STATIONS, INC.'s K241AJ/PALMDALE, CA; BIBLE BROADCASTING NETWORK, INC.'s W290AE/LAURENS, SC; and LIBERTY UNIVERSITY, INC.'s W208BL/BERRYVILLE, VA at the licensees' request.
And DE LA HUNT BROADCASTING CORP.'s construction permit for a new station on 1210 AM in PINE RIVER, MN has been cancelled according to a request by the permittee.
Also, E.W. SCRIPPS COMPANY has closed on the sale of News/Talk WTMJ-A-W277CV and Sports WKTI (ESPN 94.1, formerly Country)/MILWAUKEE, to GOOD KARMA BRANDS for $16 million and the sale of 19 radio stations in four markets -- WICHITA, KS; SPRINGFIELD, MO; OMAHA, NE; and KNOXVILLE, TN -- to SUMMITMEDIA, LLC for $47 million. The latter deal included Country KFDI-F, Classic Country KFTI-A (CLASSIC COUNTRY 1070), Classic Rock KFXJ (104.5 THE FOX), Active Rock KICT (T95), and Regional Mexican KYQQ (RADIO LOBO 106.5)/WICHITA; Country KTTS, News-Talk KSGF-A-F, Adult Hits KRVI (106.7 THE RIVER), and Top 40 KSPW (POWER 96.5)/SPRINGFIELD, MO; AC KSRZ (STAR 104.5), Rock KEZO (Z-92), Classic Rock KKCD (CD105.9), Top 40 KQCH (CHANNEL 94.1), and Sports KXSP-A (AM 590 ESPN RADIO)/OMAHA; and Country WCYQ (Q100.3), Top 40/Rhythmic WKHT (HOT 104.5), Classic Hits WNOX, and Top 40 WWST (STAR 102.1)/KNOXVILLE. KALIL & CO. served as broker for the deals.
