ENTERCOM's recently launched "OUT NOW" LGBTQ+ talk and music channel has changed its name to "CHANNEL Q" and has added its first non-HD2-HD3 affiliate, flipping ENTERCOM AC KEZN (SUNNY 103.1)/PALM DESERT-PALM SPRINGS, CA to the new format as KQPS. The channel is broadcasting live 1-6p (PT) from PALM SPRINGS PRIDE FESTIVAL TODAY (11/1). Also adding the programming is ENTERCOM's KALV-HD2/PHOENIX.
“We are thrilled to add PALM SPRINGS and the entire COACHELLA VALLEY to the ‘CHANNEL Q’ network,” said ENTERCOM LOS ANGELES SVP/Market Manager JEFF FEDERMAN. “This time last year the station was merely an idea. We are pleased to announce that we are now on a Class A signal and have a comprehensive network up and down the WEST COAST including an additional HD2 signal in PHOENIX, LIVE 101.5 (KALV-FM). We’re passionate about giving a voice to the LGBTQ+ community and its allies and are particularly proud to showcase diversity on ‘CHANNEL Q.’”
CHANNEL Q's lineup has also undergone some revision, with "THE MORNING BEAT" with JAI RODRIGUEZ and MIKALAH GORDON remaining in the 6-10a (PT) slot, but "DUMB GAY POLITICS + EVERYTHING ELSE" with JULIE GOLDMAN and BRANDY HOWARD moving from THURSDAYS noon-2 to 10a-noon MONDAYS through THURSDAYS and "SIDEBAR WITH JOHN DURAN" taking the same slot FRIDAYs (previously the FRIDAY show in the noon-2p slot). The new "NO THINGS CONSIDERED WITH KEVIN KLEIN AND ALLY JOHNSON" will be heard in the noon-2p slot, and music show "OUR HOUSE," previously 10a-noon, will move to 2-4p and continues 9p-6a. "LET'S GO THERE" with SHIRA LAZAR and RYAN MITCHELL sticks around for the 4-7p shift, "LOVELINE" with Dr. CHRIS DONAGHUE and CARRIE KEAGAN remains in the 7-9p slot MONDAYs through THURSDAYs. Coming off the weekday schedule are B. SCOTT's MONDAY show and RYAN BLACK's TUESDAY "LIFE WITH RYAN."
