Comedian and erstwhile radio host and HOWARD STERN sidekick ARTIE LANGE is returning to rehab, this time with an inpatient program, and he made the decision to do so, and broke the news live on the air, while guesting on TOWNSQUARE MEDIA Talk WKXW (NEW JERSEY 101.5)/TRENTON.
LANGE, whose ongoing struggles with drugs and alcohol have been well publicized (including on the air and in his books), visited STEVE TREVELISE's evening show MONDAY (11/5), and at the station, he met with CITY OF ANGELS founder KEVIN MEARA, comic "REVEREND" BOB LEVY, and actress-turned-recovery coach AMY LOCANE in a gathering arranged by the host. After talking with the other guests, LANGE walked into TREVELISE's studio and announced that he is trying rehab again, saying, "I'm about to go into drug treatment and commit to a full rehab, inpatient .... I think I'm ready to go in and do what I got to do."
LANGE, who, in addition to his work with STERN has hosted a show with NICK DIPAOLO for FOX SPORTS RADIO/DIRECTV and a podcast, was sentenced in JUNE to four years' probation and community service after violating probation on a previous case due to a relapse.
