ENTERCOM Country KMNB (BUZ’N @ 102.9)/MINNEAPOLIS appears set for a change, although whether it’s a re-branding, a stunt, or a full-blown format change remains to be seen.
On FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 23rd, the station posted on its FACEBOOK page, “For the past seven years, we’ve given the TWIN CITIES great country music. But, on DECEMBER 3rd, we’re buzzing off.” It followed that up with a similar message the following day, reading, “It’s been fun gettin’ our buzz on for seven years in the TWIN CITIES, but times change. Listen for something brand new at 7a on DECEMBER 3rd.”
The station’s web site currently features a message thanking listeners in MINNESOTA and WESTERN WISCONSIN for “a great seven years” and noting that, “Sadly … the buzz is about to wear off.”
OM ANDY BLOOM recently left the ENTERCOM MINNEAPOLIS CLUSTER (NET NEWS 11/15) after less than a year, but ratings have been fairly steady for KMNB, despite a 4.0-3.3 OCTOBER dip in the NIELSEN AUDIO PPM ratings.
