The ALLIANCE OF AMERICAN FOOTBALL's BIRMINGHAM IRON wil be heard in iHEARTMEDIA News-Talk WERC-A/BIRMINGHAM this season, the league's debut. Veteran sports talker THOM ABRAHAM will call the play-by-play, with former ALABAMA and ATLANTA FALCONS offensive lineman MIKE JOHNSON as color commentator and WERC's WADE SMITH hosting pre-game and post-game shows.
"I look forward to working with 2009 National Champion MIKE JOHNSON, IRON coach TIM LEWIS and this great group of men LEWIS and GM JOE PENDRY have brought together!," said ABRAHAM.
"I'm excited to be back in the heart of football for ALABAMA, and working with a veteran broadcaster like THOM," added JOHNSON.
The season begins SUNDAY (2/10) at LEGION FIELD, with the IRON facing the visiting MEMPHIS EXPRESS.
