L.A. Consumer Reporter, Former Radio Host David Horowitz Dies At 81

LOS ANGELES-based consumer reporter DAVID HOROWITZ has passed away at 81, reports the LOS ANGELES TIMES.

Best known for his "FIGHT BACK" segments and series at NBC O&O KNBC-TV/LOS ANGELES, HOROWITZ hosted a radio version,  "FIGHT BACK RADIO," at MOUNT WILSON FM BROADCASTERS News-Talk KGIL-A/LOS ANGELES.  He was a reporter and writer for KRNT-TV/DES MOINES, ABC RADIO, and NBC NEWS' "THE HUNTLEY-BRINKLEY REPORT" before joining KNBC in 1973; a 1987 incident in which a man armed with what turned out to be a toy gun held HOROWITZ hostage on the set drew national news coverage.
