As ALL ACCESS hinted a couple days ago (NET NEWS, 3/5), EMMIS AUSTIN RADIO has taken the 93.3 simulcast signal from Triple A KGSR (AUSTIN CITY LIMITS RADIO) to launch today at noon (3/8) the new STAR 93.3; a soft AC station targeting AUSTIN’s working women 35-54 years of age.
Expect to hear such legacy artists as PHIL COLLINS, ADELE, CHICAGO, WHITNEY HOUSTON, BILLY JOEL, CELINE DION and AIR SUPPLY.
“It’s been too long since AUSTIN had a station playing soft and easy music all day long,” says EMMIS AUSTIN RADIO SVP/Market Manager SCOTT GILLMORE. “And we’re very happy that the new STAR 93.3 will be home to all these great songs.”
The station will commence with “9300 songs in a row” to celebrate its debut in AUSTIN, and nationally syndicated host DELILAH’s evening radio program will debut APRIL 1st.
Concerning the 93.3 frequency that was previously a co-channel to KGSR (AUSTIN CITY LIMITS RADIO) EMMIS SVP/Operations, Programming & Content CHASE RUPE said, “We are extremely proud of our successful launch of ACL RADIO this past fall, and now we’re excited to offer it on our fully upgraded 97.1FM signal, which allows us to offer the best experience to hear ACL RADIO in the AUSTIN CITY LIMITS!”
