Deal To Transfer WYSO/Dayton From Antioch College To Independent Ownership Filed With FCC

ANTIOCH COLLEGE CORPORATION is transferring News-Talk-Variety WYSO/YELLOW SPRINGS-DAYTON, OH to MIAMI VALLEY PUBLIC MEDIA for $3.5 million ($802,500 from the DAYTON FOUNDATION's Fund for the Campaign for WYSO's Future, the rest in a promissory note, with a guarantee from the Foundation of payment of the $947,500 in outstanding pledges held in the fund).  The college announced earlier this year that it had struck a deal with station management to buy out the license and operations of the station.

In other filings with the FCC, SCOTT THOMPSON's BIG RADIO LLC has applied for an STA to operate WBEL-A/SOUTH BELOIT, WI non-directionally at reduced power nighttimes due to technical issues.

YOUNG COUNTRY HOLDINGS, LLC requested Silent STAs for WQSE-A and W292FB/WHITE BLUFF, TN while it upgrades its equipment.

In a deal that was originally filed in DECEMBER 2013, WHIPLASH RADIO, LLC has closed on the sale of WYCL-A/NILES, OH and WHTX-A/WARREN, OH to NELSON CINTRON's SAGITTARIUS COMMUNICATIONS, LLC for $150,000.

ALPHA MEDIA LICENSEE LLC has closed on the purchase of AC WZSR (STAR 105.5)/WOODSTOCK, IL and Classic Rock WFXF (103.9 THE FOX)/DUNDEE, IL, both in the northwest CHICAGO suburbs, from MATRIX BROADCASTING, LLC, debtor-in-possession for $4,669,011 and the spinoff sale of WFXF (now Contemporary Christian WAWY (AIR1)) to EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION for $900,000 and the sale of Active Rock WRXQ (Q ROCK 100.7)/COAL CITY-JOLIET, IL to WALNUT RADIO ILLINOIS, LLC for $300,000 plus a shared services agreement allowing the buyer to rent space at ALPHA's studio facilities.

And LARRY MARINER's FORUM BROADCASTING, INC. has closed on the sale of News-Talk KDRN-A and Country KDLK-F/DEL RIO, TX to JORGE and ANA SUDAY's SUDAY INVESTMENT GROUP INC. for $420,000.
