Coleman Insights Study Shows Joe Rogan Topping Podcast Listener Awareness

COLEMAN INSIGHTS' latest study crowns JOE ROGAN as the king of podcasting, at least in the category of listener awareness.
The study of 1,000 monthly podcast listeners 18-64 found that "THE JOE ROGAN EXPERIENCE" had the highest level of unaided awareness, twice as many as any other podcast. In the study, respondents were asked to name as many podcasts as they could, regardless of whether they listen. ROGAN was mentioned by 14%, with SERIAL at 6% and THE DAILY, THIS AMERICAN LIFE, and MY FAVORITE MURDER at 4%; no other podcast reached the 3% level.
COLEMAN INSIGHTS Pres. WARREN KURTZMAN said, “This study makes the importance of branding in podcasting crystal-clear. On the one hand, we see how big of a brand JOE ROGAN has relative to every other podcasting brand. On the other hand, the leading brand is top-of-mind with only 14% of podcast listeners, and he started his show 10 years ago! Figuring out how to cut through and be memorable is a real and daunting, but exciting, challenge for podcasters.”
