Nashville Songwriters Hall Of Fame Announces Six New Inductees

THE NASHVILLE SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME announced today (8/7) that its 2019 inductees will be LARRY GATLIN, MARCUS HUMMON, KOSTAS, RIVERS RUTHERFORD, SHARON VAUGHN and DWIGHT YOAKAM. The six new inductees will join the organization’s 213 existing members during the 49th anniversary NASHVILLE SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME GALA, set for MONDAY, OCTOBER 14th at NASHVILLE’s MUSIC CITY CENTER.
HUMMON, KOSTAS and RUTHERFORD will be inducted in the songwriter category; VAUGHN in the veteran songwriter category; YOAKAM as a songwriter/artist; and GATLIN as a veteran songwriter/artist.
“NASHVILLE has a rich history of iconic songs and deeply-gifted songwriters, making our community known around the world as THE song town,” said SARAH CATES, Chair of the organization’s Board of Directors. “THE NASHVILLE SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME celebrates this history by inducting a new class of legends. It’s our great honor today to welcome class of 2019.”
"I've had a grin on my face since I got the good news," said GATLIN. "I feel kinda like I've fathered a child here in my golden years. I'm humbled and grateful to be honored by my peers in the NASHVILLE SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME.”
