ALL ACCESS sends out condolences to the many friends and family of iconic TEXAS radio programmer and consultant LEE RANDALL on his recent passing, AUGUST 15th, at the age of 74, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
COX MEDIA GROUP (CMG)/SAN ANTONIO Dir./Branding and Programming for Classic Hits KONO and Hot AC KSMG (MAGIC 105.3), ROB ROBERTS told ALL ACCESS of LEE's passing and his career which included many years running legendary Top 40s KTSA-A & KTFM/SAN ANTONIO from 1972-78 as well as time at KIMN-A/DENVER and in HOUSTON at KILT-A.
According to ROBERTS, "I was preparing to leave radio and go to Law School when I met LEE when he was consulting KRLB/LUBBOCK and I became PD under his guidance. He said if I would stay, he would teach me everything he knew about radio. I did and was good to his word. He not only gave me the basics; he shared nuances that separate the good from the great. LEE was an amazing radio man on two levels ... he was smarter than just about anyone and he loved sharing what he knew. LEE's legacy lives on in radio stations everywhere because of his kindness in sharing."
THE TEXAS RADIO HALL OF FAME will induct LEE on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 2 at a ceremony at the TEXAS MUSEUM OF BROADCASTING AND COMMUNICATIONS in KILGORE, TX.
