After nearly 25 years in the market, JIM DAVIS has resigned his position as VP/Programming for MCKENZIE RIVER BROADCASTING (MRB) and PD of its Country KKNU (NEW COUNTRY 93) and Regional Mexican KEQB/EUGENE, OR to launch his own consulting firm, COUNTRY RADIO CONSULTING. He will be based in his home town of TULSA, OK.
DAVIS looks back proudly on “23 years of having the #1 station in the market (44 #1 books in a row), four ACMs, two CMAs and a morning show in the Country Radio Hall of Fame,” and says, “I could be certifiable to take this step, but it is a step that I have wanted to take for quite some time. I am so grateful to MRB owner/GM JOHN TILSON and everyone else at MRB for the greatest, most fun 25 year ride anyone could experience. And I am happy to say that our relationship will continue, as we have concluded an agreement for COUNTRY RADIO CONSULTING to consult and continue to program KKNU into the future.
“Being able to make the move back to TULSA also allows me to provide some needed assistance to my mother, who has progressing dementia,” he adds. “My sister has been carrying the load by herself, and now I will be able to assist in my mom’s care.”
DAVIS can be reached here, or by phone at (541) 583-2257.
