ALL ACCESS has learned that iHEART Top 40 WNRW (989 RADIO NOW)/LOUISVILLE has parted ways with PD/afternoon host KOBI KEARNEY after four years of service. He also oversaw programming at sister Hot AC WLGX (100.5 KISS-FM).
KEARNEY joined the station from a similar position at sister Top 40 KWNW/MEMPHIS. Previous stops include WDCG/RALEIGH, WKSL (while it was Rhythm AC and located in RALEIGH), WRDW/PHILLY, WHKF/HARRISBURG, WLKT/LEXINGTON, WHTF/TALLAHASSEE and KQIZ/AMARILLO.
Reaching out to his followers on social media KEARNEY said, "I guess it's ironic that I'm celebrating 20 years in radio this month and all of a sudden I am no longer on the radio! Thanks to everyone in LOUISVILLE and SOUTHERN INDIANA who has showed me love and support for last 4 years! I am a believer in the old saying everything happens for a reason, so hopefully the universe has something dope in store for me."
Night jock RUCKER will move to afternoons. No replacement has been named for the PD position at WNRW and WLGX.
The talented free agent plans to enjoy a little down time, but not too much! Reach him at kobiontheradio@gmail.com or on INSTAGRAM, TWITTER and SNAPCHAT.
