iHEARTMEDIA’s HARTFORD and NEW HAVEN, CT stations, including Country WWYZ/HARTFORD, are teaming up with the state’s realtors and local TV station WTNH (NEWS 8) for a multi-month campaign to raise money and build awareness surrounding CONNECTICUT’s opioid crisis, which claims at least two lives in the state daily. The campaign will span several media platforms including radio, television, digital and social media, and will include a concert by CAPITOL NASHVILLE superstar KEITH URBAN at the state’s MOHEGAN SUN ARENA on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 17th. The show is being billed as “A Concert For Recovery.”
The campaign will include public service announcements presented by local and national celebrities that speak to those seeking options and information on recovery. It will also include newscast stories and radio interviews that highlight individuals impacted by CONNECTICUT’s opioid crisis and their road to recovery. Highlights from the URBAN concert will be presented as a one-hour TV special.
Tickets for “A Concert for Recovery” go on sale WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 25th via TICKETMASTER.com or the MOHEGAN SUN box office. Proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated to the CTREALTORS FOUNDATION to provide charitable grants to state organizations addressing the opioid crisis.
“We are thrilled to be a part of an event of this magnitude that benefits and draws attention to such an important cause impacting so many in CONNECTICUT,” said STEVE HONEYCOMB, iHEART’s HARTFORD Region Pres. “Through the power of radio, and with the passion of our listeners, we hope to keep the conversation about opioid use disorder going.
