The drama over MATT JONES' aborted flirtation with running for the Senate from KENTUCKY is over, and now JONES has announced that he has inked a five year deal with iHEARTMEDIA to continue to host his statewide-syndicated "KENTUCKY SPORTS RADIO."
In a tweet on MONDAY afternoon, JONES said that he will be returning to the show, which he has been sitting out during the election controversy, on DECEMBER 26th. JONES was removed from the show due to a Republican Party complaint while he explored a run for the Democratic nomination to run against incumbent and Senate Majority Leader MITCH MCCONNELL in 2020; he also lost his hosting gig on "HEY KENTUCKY!," his TV show on NBC affiliate WLEX-TV/LEXINGTON. Republicans complained that his radio show and contract for an upcoming book "MITCH, PLEASE! HOW MITCH MCCONNELL SOLD OUT KENTUCKY (AND AMERICA TOO)" constituted illegal campaign contributions, although JONES never filed paperwork for a formal candidacy.
