Arbitron Q3 Revenues Rise, Earnings Off

ARBITRON third quarter revenue rose 4.5% year-to-year to $85.6 million despite increases expenses related to the HOUSTON PPM trial and Project Apollo pilot. EBIT fell 1.8% to $33.1 million, and net income fell 13.7% to $20.9 million (66 cents/diluted share).
The company predicts fourth quarter revenue between $75 and $77 million, with earnings at 29-33 cents/diluted share. The company has also revised its year-end guidance downward to a 4.2-4.9% increase over 2004 ($309-$311 million). EBIT has been revised upward to $99-$101 million, and net income has been revised upward as well to $64.9-$66.2 million ($2.06-$2.10/diluted share).
