NRG MEDIA/OMAHA, as well as many stations around the world, have set up safe "at home" broadcast capability for their air talent. None of NRG MEDIA/OMAHA's team has tested positive for COVID-19 but for the staff and their family's safety, the company's talent has broadcast facilities in their living rooms, basements and even in attics.
NRG MEDIA/OMAHA GM MARK SHECTERLE commented, "These are unprecedented times for all of us and I cannot be more proud of my entire staff for handling this so professionally. We’ve had to move mountains to make this happen, but we’ve been able to stay live and local, and the listeners have no idea we are not in the studio. As broadcasters, it’s our job to continue to provide our listeners with great radio by being compassionate, providing important information that affects our listeners and their families … and we must be an escape for everything that is going on."
NRG MEDIA KOZN-A Sports (1620 THE ZONE)/OMAHA added, "This stinks for all of us, but we are broadcasters and we must continue to entertain our listeners and provide them with valuable information for their families. We will get through this, and local radio will help everyone get through this … together."
