Staying Home Appears To Drive A TikTok Download Boom

As the nation attempts to slow the spread of COVID-19 by staying home, many are looking for ways to entertain themselves and while doing so, it appears that another video-led platform is seeing growth.

MUSIC BUSINESS WORLDWIDE reports that BYTEDANCE-owned short form video sharing app TIKTOK saw an 18% week-on-week rise in downloads in the U.S. last week MARCH 16th-22nd. 

Gross revenue in the country for MARCH 1st-23rd was $2.9 million – up 21% compared to the prior 23 day period.
