Country Star Joe Diffie Dies From Coronavirus Complications

GRAMMY-winning Country artist JOE DIFFIE passed away TODAY (3/29) from complications of CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) at the age of 61. His family has asked for privacy, and has revealed no other information.
DIFFIE’s publicist announced his diagnosis on FRIDAY (NET NEWS 3/27), issuing the following statement from DIFFIE: “I am under the care of medical professionals and currently receiving treatment. My family and I are asking for privacy at this time. We want to remind the public and all my fans to be vigilant, cautious and careful during this pandemic.”
DIFFIE is best known for his long string of hits in the '90s and early 2000s, including the #1s "Home," "If The Devil Danced (In Empty Pockets)," "Third Rock From The Sun," "Pickup Man," and "Bigger Than The Beatles," plus a dozen other Top 10s, scoring most of them while signed to EPIC RECORDS. He was a GRAND OLE OPRY member for the last 26 years of his career. In addition to his music career, he has been voice tracking middays on GRIFFIN COMMUNICATIONS Classic Country KXBL (BIG COUNTRY 99.5)/TULSA for nearly a year.
