CUMULUS Country KXKC/LAFAYETTE, LA is transitioning away from its former “NASH-FM” branding, debuting a new logo on FRIDAY (9/4) that simply states the station’s 99.1 frequency, its call letters, and the slogan “ACADIANA’s Original Country.” A FACEBOOK message posted alongside the new logo on FRIDAY said, “Welcome to the new and improved 99.1 KXKC! Tune in today, ACADIANA, for the start of a new era in Country music.”
The station’s website remains “nashfm991.com” for now, and its FACEBOOK page was still posting messages from “NASH FM 99.1” through the holiday weekend.
The station joins other CUMULUS Country outlets which have moved away from the company’s former national Country station branding, following similar moves by WDRQ/DETROIT; WFYR/PEORIA, IL; WNNF/CINCINNATI; WXBM/PENSACOLA, FL; KAYD/BEAUMONT, TX; KATC/COLORADO SPRINGS; WKDF/NASHVILLE; and, most recently, WLXX (now WVLK)/LEXINGTON, KY (NET NEWS 9/4).
