Primary Wave Acquires Stake In David Malloy's Catalog

Independent publisher PRIMARY WAVE MUSIC has acquired a stake in Country and Pop songwriter/producer and A&R executive DAVID MALLOY's music publishing catalog and certain producer royalties.

MALLOY's career includes 41 #1 hits, multiple GRAMMY nominations, and a BMI Burton Award. The partnership with PRIMARY WAVE MUSIC includes many of his biggest hits, including "I Love A Rainy Night," "Step By Step," "Love Will Turn You Around" and "Drivin’ My Life Away." Terms of the deal will give MALLOY access to the PRIMARY WAVE marketing, digital, and branding teams, as well as the publishing infrastructure which includes licensing and sync opportunities.

The deal comes less than two months PRIMARY WAVE acquired a stake in Country star MARTINA McBRIDE's master royalties and master copyrights (NET NEWS 3/10), and less than two weeks after the company acquired a stake in EVEN STEVENS' music publishing catalog. The latter includes such Pop and Country hits as “When You’re In Love With A Beautiful Woman,” and several STEVENS shares with MALLOY, including “I Love A Rainy Night”, “Love Will Turn You Around" and “Drivin’ My Life Away."
