A joke about Jews has led to the dismissal of one of INFINITY Sports WSCR-A (670 THE SCORE)/CHICAGO morning man MIKE NORTH's regular guests.
The CHICAGO SUN-TIMES' ROBERT FEDER reports that FRITZY KONSTANTELOS has been fired from his unpaid weekly "FRITZY'S NIGHT ON THE TOWN" segment after an OCTOBER 13 (YOM KIPPUR) appearance on which he referred to Jews who "go to temple for two hours, atone for their sins and then go right out flim-flamming again." KONSTANTELOS, who has been appearing on his friend's show for over a decade, was pulled from the air over NORTH's reported objections by PD MITCH ROSEN, who said that the station "felt in the best interest of our advertisers and our listeners that this was the proper action to take."
KONSTANTELOS told FEDER that he was "unjustifiably fired... MIKE and I make comments about all kinds of people all the time. But I know what I said was not meant to be malicious."
