PRESS COMMUNICATIONS Classic Rock WWZY-WBHX (107.1 THE BOSS)/MONMOUTH-OCEAN, NJ rolls out the welcome mat for iconic broadcaster and programmer MARK CHERNOFF, who joins the cast of “ROBBY & ROCHELLE IN THE MORNING” as Sports anchor on TUESDAY 5/31; he will also be covering swing shifts as needed.
CHERNOFF made his programming bones in NORTH JERSEY, piloting Rock stalwart WDHA/DOVER in its formative years. He stepped away from day-to-day radio duties last JUNE (NET NEWS) after a 28-year run programming influential AUDACY Sports WFAN-A-F/NEW YORK, along with successful stints at WXRK/NEW YORK and WNEW-F/NEW YORK. CHERNOFF has also served asVP/Sports Programming for CBS RADIO.
WWZY PD/Morning Host ROBBY BRIDGES said, “Every research study indicates local radio’s strengths are its personalities and its connection to the community it serves. Whether it’s entertainment from ROCHELLE and I, local information from our news anchor DIANNE DeOLIVEIRA, weather from our staff meteorologist 'NOR’EASTER' NICK PITTMAN, traffic from the legendary JOE NOLAN and now sports from MARK, listeners to 107.1 THE BOSS in the morning will hear everything NEW JERSEY and NEW YORK live and we’ll have fun doing it! MARK is exceptional talent and a brilliant strategic mind I’ve long respected. I’m thrilled to have him join our team of outstanding broadcasters at PRESS!”
CHERNOFF added, “I’m looking forward to getting back on the radio at 107.1 THE BOSS, and to being able to live in both the Sports and Rock worlds. Many thanks to ROBBY and ROCHELLE for inviting me into THEIR world.”
