George Preston Named CEO At KMFA/Austin

CAPITOL BROADCASTING ASSOCIATION Classical KMFA/AUSTIN has named WINDOW TO THE WORLD COMMUNICATIONS Classical WFMT/CHICAGO VP/GM GEORGE PRESTON as CEO, effective at the end of JANUARY. PRESTON, who succeeds the retired Pres./GM ANN HUME WILSON, worked at WBUR/BOSTON, WXCR/TAMPA, and WNYC-A-F/NEW YORK before his first stint at WFMT as a host in 2009-13; he served as GM at KCME/COLORADO SPRINGS before returning to WFMT as VP/GM in 2019.
"GEORGE comes to us with exceptional experience," said KMFA Board Chair SORIYA ESTES. "One of KMFA's central goals is to increase our community partnerships as a collaborator both inside and outside the AUSTIN arts community. He has a deep understanding of the classical music landscape and possess the qualities needed to expand and engage our listening audience size and diversity in AUSTIN, CENTRAL TEXAS, and beyond."
