Apple TV+ To Debut Competition Show 'My Kind Of Country' With Reese Witherspoon, Kacey Musgraves

APPLE TV+ will debut an eight-part, unscripted music competition series, MY KIND OF COUNTRY, on FRIDAY, MARCH 24th. The show features REESE WITHERSPOON and KACEY MUSGRAVES, who also serve as executive producers alongside MUSGRAVES' manager, SANDBOX ENTERTAINMENT's JASON OWEN. Working as talent scouts for the show will be Country stars JIMMIE ALLEN, MICKEY GUYTON and ORVILLE PECK, who will be seen searching the world for the genre's next big star.
A description of the show from APPLE calls it "a fresh take on a competition series, breaking down barriers in Country music by providing an extraordinary opportunity to diverse and innovative artists from around the world. Scouts ALLEN, GUYTON and PECK each hand-pick a roster of exceptional up-and-coming artists and invite them to ... NASHVILLE ... to showcase their unique sound." The competition winner will get "unprecedented support and exposure" on APPLE TV+.
EMMY AWARD-winner ADAM BLACKSTONE serves as the show's music director. His credits include the SUPER BOWL HALFTIME SHOW, the ACADEMY AWARDS, the GRAMMY AWARDS and FOX's THE MASKED SINGER.
