NEW SOUTH AC WJKK (MIX 98.7)/JACKSON, MS, PD and On Air Personality JOHN ANTHONY is retiring after 43 years in the business. His last day on air as PM Drive Host will be JANUARY 20th.
ANTHONY began his career in COLUMBUS, MS in 1980. His previous radio stops also include roles as an OM, PD and On-Air Talent in FAYETTE, AL, CHARLESTON, SC, and MERIDIAN, MS.
ANTHONY said “Radio has been my life. I woke up recently and 43 incredibly fun years had flown by. My utmost gratitude to CLAY HOLLADAY (NEW SOUTH OWNER) for bringing me here and allowing me to become a part of the JACKSON metro community. This is where, 4 years ago, I met and married my wife. I have served on numerous boards. Served as Pres. of the MADISON CITY CHAMBER. I will continue to call this area our home. It’s been an honor to work with so many talented individuals and to have met so many great listeners.”
HOLLADAY added, “JOHN has done a great job in his nearly 20 years with MIX 98.7. The audience has shown him the same high level of love and respect that we have had for him during his time with us. He will be greatly missed.”
